Day 4 in Singapore - Rooftop bar and more Gardens by the Bay
We were sat writing the previous two posts whilst our washing is drying, probably the most expensive washing we will do on our whole trip (12SSD/£7.20) but it needed doing before the Philippines. One person was already in the Laundrette, who after a quick chat turned out to live in Birkenhead and his daughter now lives in Singapore - we’ve crossed the ‘its a small world’ on the travelling bingo card already! Once we finished our washing, we had some hand pulled noodles for lunch and decided that we had been a little too optimistic with our list of things to do today. We decided to head to a rooftop bar which sits on tower 1 of Marina Bay Sands for the amazing views over Singapore city centre. As we found out from TikTok, you can visit this bar which have the same views and have a drink each at the bar which is cheaper than paying to go up Marina Bay Sands! The views were great, especially with a cocktail in hand and we were so glad we did this! We then headed down to walk through the Gardens by the Bay and get a MRT to Maxwell hawker for some dinner. Finally, Dan's colleague had insisted that he buy us some drinks and food at relative's bar on Clarke Quay. It was a very cool vibe there and it was great to see another side of the city - there seems to be so many different neighbourhoods which are quite different to each other so it feels like there is lots more to explore of Singapore if we ever come back. Also on our list that we didn't get chance to do was Sentosa beach, Fort Canning and Henderson's Wave Bridge.
This was our last day in Singapore before we head to the Philippines. We have been told that there is intermittent wifi connection so may be a little slow at updating the blog.
We would agree that it was a fairly easy wash!
Lunch: freshly squeezed orange juice from vending machine and hand-pulled beef noodles. The orange juice was incredible but we were a little disappointed by the noodles.

The bar area in Lavo (restaurant in Tower 1). We had an aperol spritz and a galliano gin and tonic (£30). We spent half the time watching the bartenders making various cocktails which they put so much effort in to (even chilling the glass and swirling a small amount of gin/vodka in the glass and chucking it away before serving the drink) and the other half walking around the perimeter looking at the view.

The views from the top were amazing! You could walk 3 sides of the building so saw right across the city!
Gardens by the Bay - we saw lots of turtles and fish!

Dinner: prawn summer rolls, strawberry and dragonfruit smoothie and pad see ew (this had more black pepper than we are used to at home). We also had some Chinese dumplings which we forgot to take a photo of and our eyes were bigger than our bellies!

The street art all over the city is gorgeous!

Dan's work colleague kindly treated us to some food and drinks at a bar which his cousin works at. It was in a really cool area of Singapore, not far from the centre, which we might not have visited if he hadn't mentioned it. It was a really cool harbour with lots a bars with live music, boats taking tourists down the river and a bustling atmosphere!
